How often should RO filters be changed?

The four filters once a year, and the membrane every 3 to 5 years or when the flow slows down.

How much does a filter change cost?

A yearly RO filter change is $325 plus HST: about $100 in filters (stage 1 about $10, stages 2, 3 and 4 about $30 each) plus the $225 visit. In the year the membrane is due, add $45 to $100. A yearly UV change is $425 plus HST: the bulb and quartz sleeve ($168) and the filter ($32), plus the $225 visit.

When should I replace the whole RO unit?

If it’s old, leaking, or parts are hard to get, replacement is $650 plus HST.
